There’s a place for photography at 1925 W. North Avenue.

This isn’t grandma’s fridge.

But it was certainly inspired by it. The fridge can be - like any wall - a place of memory and archive. Old drawings, photos, magnets, can hold precious memories The ForwardThinking Wall is a space donated by Waterbottle Co-op for rotating photography exhibits on it’s 1925 W North Avenue property in Baltimore, Maryland.

Murals are common in urban areas, particularly in areas distressed by poverty. However, photography as an art and tool of archive, storytelling, and expression, doesn’t have much space outside of curated exhibitions often found in exclusionary galleries. The ForwardThinking Wall is an exterior project, allowing the community to engage - either intentionally or just in passing by - with photography from local artists and documentarians.
